Blackberry Events is a small event management agency specialising in events in Birmingham, London and across the UK. Having built a reputation for delivering purpose driven events over the last 12 years, Blackberry Events has always been known as an agency centred around people, passion and purpose.
We design, develop and deliver projects of all shapes and sizes. Whether it’s a major conference, intimate awards ceremony or key business meeting, we continue to develop and deliver live, virtual and hybrid events for clients in the private sector, UK government and not for profit organisations.
If you’re an individual with excellent organisation and administration skills and looking for a new challenge, or if you’re looking for a foot in the door to the world of live event management we may have an opening for you.
This is a varied role that touches almost every aspect of what we do. Working closely with our Event Managers, you’ll support the planning, management and delivery of conferences, events and roadshows.
There’ll be plenty of communication with suppliers, delegates and clients – checking requirements, confirming deadlines, finding suppliers, sourcing hotels, travel arrangements, and materials, and always a few last-minute surprises.
And there’ll be opportunities to learn and develop your event management skills and attend events if you wish to do so.
You’ll have worked in or around events already and/or you can show us that you’ve got the enthusiasm, attention to detail and positive attitude to get things done in this environment. Calmness under pressure, organisational skills and the ability to work in a team are a must.
Ideally, you know your way around Microsoft Office. Being a clear and confident communicator is crucial – in writing and on the phone – with colleagues, clients and suppliers.
You’ll need to hold a full UK driving licence, be able to travel occasionally around the UK and be flexible to working hours when live events take place over evenings and/or weekends.
For starters, you get 23 days holiday which increases to 25 after two years, plus all UK bank holidays. We close down every year between Christmas and New Year and finish early on Fridays in the summer.
You’ll be rewarded when the company does well, via the annual bonus scheme.
You’ll get health care benefits, including 24/7 online GP access, mental health and wellbeing support and a medical plan that pays cashback on NHS prescriptions, dental treatments, opticians, physio and things like that. There are rewards and discounts on fitness trackers, gym membership, sportswear and days out too.
You’ll have access to a range of great learning and development opportunities, including a membership to the regional networking group Future Faces at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce.
